Founded in 1960, the Mauritius Tamil Temples Federation (MTTF) has a primary aim to promote religious, social, educational and cultural advancement of the citizens of the Tamil Community in the Republic of Mauritius, whilst providing assistance and advice in the management of affiliated Kovils. Moreover, it also acts as an intermediary body between the State and affiliated Kovils in the distribution of financial subsidy. At the same time, the MTTF fosters and maintains a good relationship with other socio-cultural organizations locally and abroad within the Tamil Diaspora
